Return of Fantastiko

This is it -- our piece of the rock, where we set the agenda and lay the smack down. Or (more likely) exchange ideas civilly, listen intently, and learn from each other and from our visitors. Fantastiko offers political fireworks, news that flies under the radar, and a safe place for constructive debate.

Fantastiko welcomes you!

This is it -- our piece of the rock, where we set the agenda and lay the smack down. Or (more likely) exchange ideas civilly, listen intently, and learn from each other and from our visitors.

Fantastiko was born in an hour-long coping strategy session between two friends on November 3rd, 2004, the day our dear Mr. Bush won a bitterly contested race for the white house. By welcoming our friends to the discussion, we hope this place will remind us that, despite what the election revealed, we're not as alone in our principles as we're tempted to feel. This blog will also offer little, but important, reminders that life goes on and that political confusion and disillusion can't penetrate everything. You'll sense a political theme in our topics, at least until the pain of the election begins to subside. Let's let the healing begin and get ready to get through the next four years together.

So post your heads off and don't hold back!

Nan & Carl,
Congratulations! It was about time. The world needs you and your insights. The next 1260 days will be maybe more interesting than the ones that went by since W stole the 2000 election. Yes, I'm not giving up on that issue, he DID steal it and I haven't been persuaded otherwise, even though the reps decided that it's not an issue anymore. Typical of them, don't want to talk about it, so they brush it off like it doesn't matter leaving us gasping 'but...but...but...'. OK. I'm going off here on a different topic. This was just to say CONGRATULATIONS! Two words of caution though: 1) storage: this will grow out of control, so make sure you keep hard copies of the most memorable topics and posts, you never know, it might be the seed of a book...
2) surveillance: free speech, my ass. I hope you don't get a one-way trip to Guantanamo from our moral and just leaders.
And a question:
Can we discuss Beatles issues here or is that reserved for the senior citizens that will frequent this electronic ink repository?

GOOD LUCK

Should I sign as Dad, Guille, Superman, what??

Thanx for the invite nan!
I look forward to hearing from others who are as confused, P.O.ed, worried, and just tired of having desires of BEING TREATED FAIRLY (examples can be found within the constitution)end up being ignored or side-stepped by members of the republican party in each of its shapes and forms.
Now, I will be the first to admit that I am not the most politically savvy individual, but I am blessed with the ability to discern the truth from a political promise. I believe that (despite the results of november 2nd) the majority of those who are at least coherent have similar abilities, but were just caught up in all the mud slinging, hyper-moralistic idealism(did I make that one up?!?) and deception which was enhanced by the multitudes of evil EVIL spin doctors belonging to the current incarnation of the republican party.
Geez, can i be long winded or what?
Inability to accept fact that I'm forced to spend "four more years" with a guy who really should'nt have had four previous ones aside,
Thanx again for providing me the opportunity to interact with others, and most assuredly learn something new on a daily basis.
