Return of Fantastiko

This is it -- our piece of the rock, where we set the agenda and lay the smack down. Or (more likely) exchange ideas civilly, listen intently, and learn from each other and from our visitors. Fantastiko offers political fireworks, news that flies under the radar, and a safe place for constructive debate.

Lest we forget...

Lord knows I don't want to dwell on this election for long, but I stumbled across an insightful piece (RealAudio, 15 min.) on NPR's This American Life that does a nice job encapsulating some of the most egregious voter suppression efforts that have so far been uncovered, the vast majority of them by the GOP or other right-wing groups.

Carl,

Great clip! Can you imagine the noise republicans would be making if these charges had been reversed?

Here's the AP story about Jeb Bush ignoring advice to 'pull the plug' on the voter database (http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=172929). Notice it was released on October 17th, weeks before the election.

Also, read this article that has been circulating by email today about discarded votes:

Keith Olbermann of MSNBC is asking questions about the election results. His guest last night was one of the congressmen who wrote to the GAO for an investigation into voting irregularities.

The article does a nice job of trying to separate valid questions from those that are easy to dismiss:
